BNSF Railway recognises customers for excellence in product safety
BNSF Railway Company recently honoured 109 customers with the annual Product Stewardship Award for their exceptional safety in transporting hazardous materials by rail.
The award recognises companies that transported a minimum number of loaded tank cars of hazardous materials with zero non-accident releases during the previous year’s full transportation cycle. Additionally, these companies demonstrated adherence to the principles of product stewardship under the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® initiative.
“Safety is always a priority in all our operations at BNSF,” said executive vice president and CEO, Matt Igoe. “We take pride in celebrating customers whose priorities consistently align with our own. These strong partnerships help us remain committed to moving materials safer than any other mode of land transportation.”
Implemented in 1997, the BNSF Stewardship Award recognises shippers who transport a minimum of 500 loaded tank cars of hazardous materials during the previous year and record zero non-accidental releases. This recognition underscores BNSF’s and its customers’ dedication to safety and environmental stewardship in the transportation of hazardous materials.
