Ed Miliband opens Associated British Ports’s Lowestoft Eastern energy facility
Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, officially opened the Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility at Associated British Ports’ Port of Lowestoft today.
The £35 million project underscores ABP’s commitment to establishing Lowestoft as a central hub for the offshore energy sector in the region. LEEF is equipped with state-of-the-art port infrastructure, expanded quay space, and deep-water berthing designed to support operations & maintenance activities and construction for the offshore energy industry.
A Milestone for the Energy Transition

During his visit, Miliband toured North Star’s hybrid electric service operation vessel, Grampian Tweed, and ScottishPower Renewables’ control room for the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm.
