Furetank releases its first sustainability report


Furetank said: “Today we are proud to release the very first Furetank sustainability report, summing up all of our green efforts during 2021.”

It added: “You are most welcome to read about how Furetank made our VINGA ship series best in class globally in meeting IMO-international climate goals for shipping.”

The report also includes: 

  • Continuously developing safety work to the highest standard
  • Choosing dual fuel LNG/LBG propulsion
  • Optimising the trading pattern to further lower emissions
  • Offseting all remaining CO2 emissions from the VINGA vessels for 2021
  • Low noise cargo operations
  • Care for the underwater environment and protect sensitive eco systems
  • Safeguard diversity, equality and employee well-being

It added: “All of this in great cooperation with FKAB Marine Design, Wärtsilä Corporation, Svanehøj, the port of Gothenburg, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Gasum, Repsol, STX Group, Gold Standard, ExxonMobil, Alfa Laval, the Swedish shipowners’ association, NET Ship Management, Furuno Marine Electronics, Kongsberg Gruppen, Gothia Tanker Alliance and many others.”

In conclusion, it said: “This is our first report, but certainly not the last. Lots of work is going on in the company to further progress our efforts for a sustainable world – below and above the sea surface, in the atmosphere and on land.
