HOYER Group collaborates with China to prepare the AICM Report for 2021

The international logistics specialist, HOYER Group, has announced its collaboration in China with preparing the AICM Sustainability Report for 2021. Logistics experts from its own ranks support the development and achievement of the Chinese chemical industry’s ecological objectives.

Currently, sustainability is one of the major topics worldwide – it is the case in China as well. The People’s Republic has set itself ambitious goals for the carbon reduction and neutrality which the country aims to reach. The members of the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers are committed to this challenge and, following the 2019 report, have now presented the second AICM 2021 Sustainable Development Report without the government having given any commission.

Ricky Zhou, HOYER Group managing director, said: “The fact that we are the only logistics company participating in the preparation of the AICM 2021 Sustainable Development Report illustrates the value of HOYER, its commitment and in particular its contribution to the country’s carbon neutrality.”

AICM was founded in 1988 as the representative of the leading international chemical companies in China. HOYER Group has also displayed a commitment to sustainable action in all steps of the logistics process. HOYER has pursued concrete sustainability objectives for decades, and also demonstrates them transparently in the Sustainability Report published annually.

HOYER invested in a modern truck fleet to achieve its own sustainability objective using engines fuelled by LNG and CNG. This allowed HOYER to reduce its worldwide transport emissions to below 20 g of CO₂ per tonne-km in 2020.

Group board director at HOYER, Mark Binns, said: “Our global sustainability management of the HOYER Group is made clear by the alignment of the entire company to the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, eight aims of which we have defined as guidelines for our own target settings.

“In addition to climate action and economic growth, these aims also include no poverty, quality education and an obligation to responsible consumption – and these apply to the activities of the HOYER Group worldwide.”

This shows that AICM members and the HOYER Group are willing to make ambitious long-term efforts to transform the economy, industrial structures and energy ecosystems.
