Innofreight will digitalise its whole fleet with Nexxiot’s help

Innofreight, an Austrian rail logistics company, will collaborate with Nexxiot, a TradeTech pioneer providing Asset Intelligence through hardware and software solutions, for more efficient transportation, to digitalise its entire InnoWaggons fleet. Over the last year, more than 1,000 railcars have already been equipped with Nexxiot’s Asset Intelligence technology.

The current agreement will focus on applying this technology on all 2,700 Innofreight railcars. Moreover, Innofreight stated that the new railcars will be built in Croatia by TŽV Gredelj, part of the Tatravagónka group since October 2021. Nexxiot’s Globehopper connectivity gateway will be applied to the new and existing Innofreight fleet.

Nexxiot’s Globehopper devices

Nexxiot offers three different Globehopper devices for the monitoring and safety of railcars and intermodal containers: Globehopper Crossmodal, Globehopper Edge, and Globehopper LINK. Crossmodal and Edge are the safest, self-powered IoT devices in the industry, allowing customers to track and monitor the journey of any asset that can also ship dangerous goods, providing data concerning live location, total mileage, impact events, and ETAs. LINK’s main purpose is to optimize lifecycle costs of any railcar subsystem through remote diagnostic, allowing for the remote monitoring of brakes, traction, ride comfort, HVAC, and doors.

Innofreight is not the first to choose Nexxiot

Nexxiot seems to be the preferred choice for many companies that embrace the digitalisation of their products. In October, for example, a new partnership was established between Nexxiot and Chemet, a railway tank manufacturer based in France and Poland. The two companies will work together to apply Nexxiot’s technology to Chemet tanks for LPG transportation. Chemet became the first European manufacturer to commit to fully digitalising its railway tank car offerings, and Innofreight is following suit.
