Mabanaft sells business areas in Lipps Energie and Uhlenbruck Energie

Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG has signed an agreement for the sale of the Energy Distribution business areas in the two companies Lipps Energie GmbH und Uhlenbruck Energie GmbH & Co. KG.

As part of the reorganisation of the Mabanaft Group’s end-customer business, the Petronord Group was earlier this year split into two business areas, Commercial Road Transport (CRT) and Energy Distribution (ED). With the aim to further integrate its operations, this is one of the steps to strengthen and expand its end-customer business on a solid basis, in line with the Mabanaft Group strategy.

The two companies, Lipps Energie, based in Hagen, and Uhlenbruck Energie, based in Mühlheim a. d. Ruhr, have been part of the Petronord Group for many years. Through their energy distribution business areas, they have over the decades successfully supplied the regions around their respective headquarters with energy products.

After careful consideration of several aspects and criteria in the further implementation of the Mabanaft Group strategy, the decision was taken to sell both companies’ ED divisions to Rheinland energie team GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 1st December 2023. The transaction is subject to necessary authority approvals. The automated truck service stations of both companies, which are part of the tankpool24 network in Germany, have been fully integrated into Mabanaft’s Retail unit. These will remain with unchanged ownership in the CRT division, one of Mabanaft’s strategic focus areas, geared towards further strengthening and growth.
