North Sea Port offers 34 hectares of port land at the former BTZ site in Vlissingen
In collaboration with the trustees of Bulk Terminal Zeeland, North Sea Port is seeking operators for a strategic seaport site featuring the newly constructed Quarleskade quay with direct access to the North Sea via the Western Scheldt. The site, located in Vlissingen, includes the former Bulk Terminal Zeeland site along with surrounding land.
Seeking Key Players in Energy and Raw Materials Transition
North Sea Port is looking for companies engaged in deep-sea port-related activities and those playing a significant role in the energy and raw materials transition. The goal is to ensure optimal use of the site’s infrastructure while contributing to the port’s sustainable development, European strategic autonomy, and job creation. Safety and integrity will remain key criteria in the selection process.
Site Features and Availability
The 33.9-hectare site on San Marinoweg in Ritthem offers:
Direct North Sea access via the Western Scheldt
700-metre total quay length
450 metres designed for a maximum 14.5 m LAT draught
250 metres designed for a maximum 12.5 m LAT draught
Two warehouses (30,000 m² and 5,000 m²)
Land available for leasehold, with existing buildings available for purchase
Application and Selection Process
The application process will run in three phases—notification, selection, and contract—between March 17 and April 6, 2025. Details regarding the market consultation and application procedure will be available on the North Sea Port website starting March 17.
Companies that have already registered with North Sea Port or BTZ trustees and received written confirmation do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the call for applications. Other interested parties may register via the online contact form.
