Sinochem selects Baker Hughes’ Cordant™ for enterprise-wide asset management
Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company, has announced a strategic enterprise agreement with Sinochem, a leading multinational chemical conglomerate, to implement its Cordant™ Asset Health solution across ten of Sinochem’s chemical production plants in China. The agreement marks the first advanced enterprise-level deployment of Cordant™ in the region and represents a significant step forward in Baker Hughes’ expansion into the chemical and broader industrial sectors.
Under the agreement, Cordant™ Asset Health will be deployed to help Sinochem centralise critical rotating equipment data within its cloud infrastructure. This digital transformation initiative is set to enhance operational transparency, improve cross-site collaboration, and strengthen the company’s ability to detect equipment anomalies before they escalate into costly failures.
By enabling early identification of potential issues, the solution will support Sinochem’s central diagnostics teams in reducing unplanned downtime and limiting production disruptions. With a consolidated, enterprise-wide view of operations, the company will also be positioned to scale best practices across facilities, optimise asset performance, and boost overall operational efficiency.
Industrial operators worldwide are grappling with the challenges of managing complex equipment across multiple locations—challenges often compounded by siloed data and reactive maintenance models. As more organisations move towards integrated digital strategies, solutions such as Cordant™ are proving pivotal in delivering real-time insights and enabling predictive maintenance at scale.
“This agreement is a strong example of how we are supporting industrial customers on their digital transformation journeys,” said Aravind Yarlagadda, Senior Vice President of Industrial Solutions, Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes. “By combining our deep-domain expertise with advanced AI-powered digital technologies, we are helping Sinochem deliver their commitment to building more intelligent and sustainable operations.”
With more than a century of innovation in energy and industrial technologies, Baker Hughes continues to integrate digital solutions like Cordant™ into its portfolio, offering customers comprehensive tools to extend asset life, maximise uptime, and drive long-term value.
This partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing digitalisation in the chemical sector while supporting more resilient, efficient, and sustainable industrial operations.
