Vlaeynatie strengthens logistical strength with three new warehouses in North Sea Port

Located in the North Sea Port area, Vlaeynatie continued its investment in future growth with the opening of three new warehouses, adding 30,000m² of additional storage and processing capacity. The expansion strengthened Vlaeynatie’s position as a logistics partner and reinforced the port’s role as a major logistics hub in the region.

The three new warehouses were designated primarily for the storage, packaging and processing of fertilisers. These facilities, named Terminal 3, 4 and 5, were designed to accommodate both bulk goods and packaged products. The site was equipped with two brand new, advanced bag lines: one for big bags and one for 25 kg bags. The expansion represented a total investment of 25 million euros, with Vlaeynatie aiming to respond to exponential demand for additional logistics solutions from its customers, not only within inorganic fertilisers but also in powdered specialty chemicals, minerals and related substances.

Cas König, CEO of North Sea Port, noted that in collaboration with Vlaeynatie, the port had built a new road structure to the terminal, including a safe cycle path. He explained that this infrastructure promoted efficient, safe and sustainable transport to and around the company’s facilities.

Vlaeynatie maintained trimodal accessibility through water, rail and road connections. Lieven Vander Elstraeten, CEO of Vlaeynatie, emphasised that together with the company’s strategic location in the North Sea Port area, these represented additional assets in terms of accessibility, particularly as the port of Antwerp was becoming increasingly busy. He attributed the company’s exponential growth in volumes to its good reputation and quality of service, noting that expanding capacity was therefore a logical step that supported the diversification of Vlaeynatie’s range of services.

The new warehouses enhanced Vlaeynatie’s ability to serve customers across multiple sectors while leveraging the strategic advantages of the North Sea Port location. The investment demonstrated the company’s commitment to meeting growing demand for specialised logistics services in fertilisers, chemicals, and related materials, positioning it to capitalise on increased business opportunities as regional port traffic continued to expand.
