Idwal and MOL agree global inspection partnership spanning vessel acquisitions, fleet operations and owner oversight

The agreement will see MOL utilise Idwal’s global network of marine surveyors and technical expertise to carry out owners’ inspections using the shipping company’s own inspection standards and checklists. The approach allows MOL to maintain consistency across its inspection programme while benefiting from Idwal’s international reach and established quality assurance processes.

As part of the partnership, Idwal will also support vessel acquisition activities and ongoing condition monitoring through its ID digital platform, providing a centralised view of vessel condition and inspection data across parts of the MOL Group.

According to Idwal, the agreement builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies and reflects MOL’s confidence in the company’s global surveyor network and technical capabilities.

A key feature of the partnership is MOL’s decision to retain its own inspection philosophy while leveraging Idwal’s worldwide inspection resources. The arrangement is designed to improve operational efficiency across multiple regions without compromising the company’s established inspection standards.
