Sydney Airport’s aviation fuel storage and hydrant system to be operated by Skytanking
Skytanking Australia has signed a contract, effective from 1 October 2020, with Sydney Airport Corporation, following an extensive international public tender process.
Gerard Reumer, CEO of Skytanking, said: “Sydney is Skytanking’s first operation in Australia. It represents another milestone in the company’s global goal to be the preferred aviation fuel handling partner for airlines, airports, and oil companies.”
Skytanking now manages a fuel system supplied by truck and pipelines, comprising 29,000 m3 of Jet A-1 storage and 11,000 m of underground pipelines connecting the storage to more than 170 apron hydrant pits at Sydney Airport.
Sydney is Australia’s busiest airport and has one of the highest fuel throughputs in the world.
