EFTCO updates cleaning codes for tank safety
As part of the food logistics chain, the European Federation of Tank Cleaning Organisations (EFTCO) and its associated cleaning stations have always focused on its responsibilities in safety and hygiene.
Through its connections with national associations across the European Territory and Global member, the organisation is well placed to link its vast network of over 550 cleaning stations. All cleaning stations that are members of their EFTCO-related national association use the European Cleaning Document (ECD) for the documentation of cleaning.
EFTCO is the owner of the EFTCO Cleaning Document (ECD) which highlights the quality and legality of the tank cleaning operation. The ECD is a document commonly accepted as proof that the tank cleaning was carried out as the customer requested, at a high-quality level, and in respect of all legal, safety and environmental requirements.
The ECD contains important information for all partners in the supply chain and has been translated into over 20 different languages.
The minimum requirement for access to the ECD is supervised by EFTCO’s national associations. EFTCO has just published a total of 31 new revisions of its cleaning codes for tank cleaning documentation that is essential when using the ECD. The new codes were added this year to satisfy industry demands over the use of the most up to date cleaning documentation.
