Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Seatrium Technology & Innovation to explore strategic cooperation in advanced engineering, technology development and new product design for the marine and offshore sector.
The partnership is intended to support the development of innovative sustainable energy solutions and digital economy applications, with the aim of accelerating the delivery of safer, more efficient and future-ready offshore assets for global markets.

Under the agreement, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore will provide technical guidance, compliance support and independent verification services to assist Seatrium Technology & Innovation in addressing complex engineering requirements, regulatory frameworks and relevant international standards. The collaboration will also support selected concepts through Approval in Principle (AiP), technology qualification programmes, product optimisation, manufacturing readiness assessments and type approval strategies.
The MoU further includes provisions for knowledge-sharing initiatives, including joint workshops, technical briefings and training sessions designed to strengthen capabilities and accelerate the maturity of emerging offshore technologies.
The collaboration brings together Seatrium’s expertise in offshore engineering, platform design and technology development with Bureau Veritas’ long-standing role in classification, certification and risk management for marine and offshore assets.
Through this partnership, both organisations aim to advance commercially viable and technically robust solutions that can be scaled to meet the evolving demands of the offshore energy, marine and broader industrial sectors.
Aziz Merchant stated that Seatrium is committed to integrating digitalisation, advanced technologies and sustainable energy solutions across the offshore value chain. He noted that the collaboration reflects a shared focus on engineering excellence, technology qualification and sustainability advisory, while supporting the company’s R&D agenda and its goal of delivering next-generation offshore assets that are resilient, scalable and aligned with the global energy transition.
