Cheniere Energy marks major LNG milestone as Corpus Christi expansion progresses ahead of schedule
Cheniere Energy, Inc. has announced the substantial completion of Train 5 of its Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Stage 3 Project in Texas.
The seven-train, 10-plus million-tonne-per-annum (mtpa) CCL Stage 3 project continues to track on budget and ahead of schedule. Cheniere is working closely with engineering, procurement and construction contractor Bechtel Corporation to safely and efficiently expedite the completion of the project’s two remaining trains later this year.
The milestone follows the installation of first steel at Cheniere’s CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project earlier in the month. Together with estimated debottlenecking opportunities, the project is expected to bring approximately 5 mtpa of additional LNG production capacity online by the end of 2028, increasing Cheniere’s overall liquefaction capacity to over 60 mtpa.
