In a strategic move towards advancing green hydrogen initiatives, P2X Solutions, a Finnish pioneer in the field, has entered into a financing agreement with Alpiq, a prominent Swiss energy services provider and European electricity producer. Under the arrangement, Alpiq will become the majority owner of P2X Solutions.

Herkko Plit, CEO of P2X Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Alpiq is a significant European energy company, and we are very excited to partner with them. Establishing a strategic partnership with Alpiq substantially strengthens our position and ability to scale up our business.”

Alpiq, renowned for its extensive experience and strong presence in energy generation and marketing across Europe, including Finland, sees P2X Solutions as a perfect fit within its strategy, particularly in the realm of hydrogen activities. Amédée Murisier, a member of Alpiq’s executive board, highlighted the significance of integrating renewable energy and emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting P2X Solutions’ endeavours.

Despite the financing arrangement, P2X Solutions will maintain its autonomy as an independent entity. The company is currently in the process of constructing Finland’s inaugural industrial-scale green hydrogen production facility in Harjavalta, with plans for additional plants in Joensuu and Oulu. This partnership with Alpiq is poised to accelerate P2X Solutions’ mission to advance green hydrogen initiatives and contribute to the renewable energy landscape.
