HOYER Group & Dupré Logistics to start joint US venture

Global bulk logistics provider HOYER Group has started a joint venture with US-American transport company Dupré Logistics. HOYER will take over transport services for liquid products in ISO tank containers.

Hamburg-based HOYER holds 49 per cent of the shares in the joint venture under the name HOYER Bulk LLC, while Dupré, which is headquartered in Houston, owns 51 per cent.

Dupré Logistics is a privately held, asset-based provider of transportation and logistics services that include energy and chemical transport, dedicated truck transportation, site logistics, and freight brokerage. It specialises in tanker, hazmat, and petrochemical transportation and complex supply chain solutions in industrial and consumer products.

The HOYER Group has roughly 50 sites worldwide, representative offices in 115 countries and partners around the world, and has access to a steadily growing global network. It says the venture is part of its “consistent expansion strategy” and “consolidates its market position on the North American continent”.

HOYER operates road transport in Europe and has a “sophisticated international network” for intermodal traffic, which is linked to its own business area for overseas traffic. Dupré meanwhile specialises in USA-based transport operations.

HOYER said in a statement that the move “combines the specialisations of the two companies, thus enabling seamless order processing and high transparency”.

The first transport movements in the USA have been taking place since January 15 2020.

Ortwin Nast, Chief Executive Officer of the HOYER Group, said: “Partnership with Dupré is a logical expansion of our internationally aligned overseas activities by providing transport services in the USA.”

Mike Weindel, President of Dupré Logistics, added: “We give the highest priority to transparency and dependability in our operations. HOYER has the same understanding, as we immediately noticed.”
