Transco Rail Services has announced the appointment of Jay McGill as president, marking a new chapter in the company’s continued growth and operational leadership across North America.
McGill brings extensive rail industry experience and a proven track record of driving operational excellence, business growth, and customer-focused innovation. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions across Marmon Rail, UTLX, Procor, and Transco, where he has played a key role in expanding field service capabilities, advancing maintenance solutions, and strengthening integrated operations throughout the United States and Canada.

“Jay brings a deep understanding of the rail services industry, a proven track record of operational leadership, and extensive experience driving growth across North America,” said Chris Hagge, president of Marmon Railyard and Repair Services.
The appointment follows the successful tenure of Bob Nelson, whose leadership helped establish Transco’s strong reputation for operational excellence, safety, reliability, and customer service. The company recognized Nelson’s significant contributions in guiding Transco’s growth and strengthening its position as an industry leader.
As he assumes the role, McGill expressed enthusiasm for the future of the organisation.
“I’m excited to take on this role and build upon the strong foundation Bob and the Transco team have established,” McGill said. “Transco Rail Services has an outstanding reputation across the industry for safety, reliability, technical expertise, and customer service.”
Under McGill’s leadership, Transco Rail Services will continue to focus on growth, innovation, and delivering exceptional value to customers across North America while building on the company’s long-standing commitment to operational excellence.
