Crude oil tanks:

The quality and aggressive nature of the crude oil typically stored in these tanks can vary greatly.

Typical challenges for crude oil tanks include:

Water content
SRB (sulphate reducing bacteria)
Temperature management

Petrochemical tanks:

Typically containing petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel, gasoline, solvents or crude palm oil. Some chemicals – like jet-A fuel – require certified tank linings.

Typical challenges for petrochemical tanks include:

To avoid product contamination
To maintain lining integrity

Chemical tanks:

Typically the most challenging and valuable chemicals are stored here. Typically these tanks contain process critical additives, high value end products, acids or other corrosive and hazardous chemicals.

Typical challenges for chemical tanks include:

To avoid product contamination
Products stored are aggressive
To maintain lining integrity

Solvents/blends tanks:

Typically containing small molecules, which can be aggressive towards tank linings, even though they will not cause corrosion.

Typical challenges for solvents/blends tanks include:

To avoid product contamination
To maintain lining integrity
