KLINGER The Netherlands acquires Hadro Techniek to expand process instrumentation portfolio

KLINGER The Netherlands has completed the acquisition of Hadro Techniek, a Dutch manufacturer specialising in magnetic level measurement devices, as part of its strategic expansion in process instrumentation. The acquisition, which became effective June 16, 2025, brings Hadro into the KLINGER Group and adds certified level measurement technology to the company’s instrumentation portfolio.

Strategic Acquisition Details

The acquisition represents a focused effort by KLINGER to consolidate expertise in level instrumentation while expanding its global reach and technical innovation capabilities. Hadro Techniek, founded in 1993, has established itself as a recognised manufacturer of tailor-made magnetic level indicators, serving both industrial and maritime sectors with solutions that comply with the highest international standards.

KLINGER, a globally respected name in industrial sealing and fluid control, views the acquisition as a natural extension of its existing capabilities in level measurement technology. The integration brings together complementary expertise and strengthens the company’s position in the specialised instrumentation market.

Operational Continuity and Leadership

The Hadro team will continue operations at the existing production facility in Moordrecht, located approximately 20 kilometres from KLINGER The Netherlands headquarters. This arrangement ensures continuity of service and maintains established operational workflows.

Jasper Drost, the former owner of Hadro Techniek, will remain with the organisation as a consultant, working closely with KLINGER leadership to ensure seamless integration. The transition team includes Ton van Erkelens, managing director at KLINGER The Netherlands, and Gijs de Bakker, project manager for fluid control & steam solutions at KLINGER The Netherlands.

Van Erkelens characterised Hadro as “a perfect strategic fit,” noting that the acquired company’s products, quality standards, and commitment to customer solutions align closely with KLINGER values. This leadership structure is designed to guarantee technical continuity while facilitating the integration of Hadro’s capabilities into the broader KLINGER Group.

Technical Capabilities and Market Position

Hadro brings significant technical credentials to the KLINGER portfolio, including certifications such as PED (Pressure Equipment Directive), ATEX/IECEx for explosive atmosphere applications, and maritime approvals from classification societies including Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas. These certifications have established Hadro’s strong position in the highly specialised magnetic level gauge market.

The acquisition enables KLINGER to strengthen its level gauge business while making these specialised products directly accessible to all companies within the KLINGER Group. This expanded access is expected to enhance the company’s ability to serve customers across multiple industries and geographic markets.

Historical Context and Future Vision

The acquisition builds upon KLINGER’s long-standing heritage in level measurement technology. The company invented the glass reflex level gauge in 1891, establishing a legacy of excellence in visual level indication that spans more than a century. The addition of Hadro’s magnetic level indicator technology represents a natural evolution of this expertise.

Drost emphasised that joining KLINGER The Netherlands secures the expertise of his company while opening new possibilities for innovation and growth on an international scale. The combination of Hadro’s specialised manufacturing capabilities with KLINGER’s global reach and resources is expected to create opportunities for expanded market penetration and technological development.
