Merger of Fairfield Chemical Carriers into MOL Chemical Tankers


MOL Chemical Tankers Pte. Ltd. has announced that the merger of Fairfield Chemical Carriers Pte. Ltd. into MOLCT is set to take effect on or around April 1, 2025, pending shareholders’ approval.

The merger follows MOLCT’s full acquisition of FCCSP on March 1, 2024, after which FCCSP continued operating as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name Fairfield Chemical Carriers.

Merger Details & Operational Impact

As part of the integration, all assets and contracts of FCCSP will be transferred to MOLCT, with MOLCT assuming full responsibility for their fulfillment and ongoing operations. The newly combined business will operate under the unified brand name MOL Chemical Tankers.

MOLCT aims to leverage the merger to enhance operational efficiency, expand its service network, and deliver greater flexibility to stakeholders.

Akira Sasa, CEO of MOLCT, emphasised the strategic significance of the merger, stating:

Company Name Changes

Effective April 1, 2025, several subsidiaries will be rebranded to reflect the unified MOL Chemical Tankers identity:

** MOL Chemical Tankers South Africa Ltd. will be a joint venture, with MOL Chemical Tankers Pte. Ltd. (49 percent) and Thembani Shipping (Pty) Ltd. (51 percent).
