The initiative will conclude with a final event in Brussels in June 2025, where stakeholders will call for a technology-inclusive approach to transport decarbonisation—an approach that values the contribution of renewable fuels alongside electrification and other innovations.

As the EU advances toward its 2050 climate neutrality goal, initiatives like Tour d’Europe highlight the critical role of renewable fuels in delivering immediate emissions reductions. These fuels provide a pathway to decarbonise existing fleets without requiring extensive infrastructure overhauls.

Importantly, the renewable fuel sector also supports the continuity of Europe’s automotive industry, which sustains approximately 13.8 million jobs. By adopting renewable fuels alongside emerging technologies, Europe can pursue climate targets while safeguarding its industrial base.
