Saudi Aramco’s JV Sadara Chemical Company begins supplies to PlasChem Park

Sadara Chemical, a joint venture by Saudi Aramco and the Dow Chemical Co, has announced the full operation of its ethylene oxide and propylene oxide pipeline transportation system.

The region’s first-of-its-kind system will supply feedstock from the company’s Jubail chemical complex to tenants in the adjacent value park, known as PlasChem Park, according to a statement.

The facilities envisioned for PlasChem Park are vital for the future of the Kingdom’s petrochemicals industry.

Feedstock will be used by tenants to produce diversified specialty products, which will enable applications for the Kingdom’s several downstream industries such as oil and gas chemicals, construction materials, detergents, home and personal care products and water treatment chemicals.

“This is a major step in the development of PlasChem Park, which provides business tenants with easy access to one of our distinguished feedstocks,” said Sadara CEO Faisal M. AlFaqeer.

“The facilities envisioned for PlasChem Park are vital for the future of the Kingdom’s petrochemicals industry,” he said.

“They will help realise the Kingdom’s downstream initiative, combining manufacturers’ expertise with the special chemicals that Sadara produces, for the benefit of local, national and global markets,” the CEO said.

Located in Jubail Industrial City II, the PlasChem Park spans over an area of 12 sq km, dedicated to downstream chemical and conversion industries in the Kingdom.
