SGS distinguished for sustainability excellence by MSCI and Financial Times

SGS is proud to announce two significant achievements that underscore its commitment to sustainability and excellence in corporate governance. For the fifth consecutive year, SGS has maintained its AAA rating in Morgan Stanley Capital International’s ESG Ratings assessment, ranking among the top six professional services companies in 2024. Additionally, for the third year in a row, SGS has been recognised as the leader for the Testing, Inspection, and Certification sector in Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024, a prestigious ranking compiled by the Financial Times and Statista.

The MSCI ESG Ratings assessment highlights SGS’s strong management and performance in corporate governance, data security, and carbon emissions. MSCI Inc., the world’s largest provider of ESG indexes, evaluates how well companies manage ESG risks on a seven-point scale from AAA to CCC. SGS’s consistent AAA rating reflects its superior management of these risks relative to its peers.

Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024 ranking recognises SGS for achieving significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions intensity and for its ongoing climate-related commitments. SGS secured its position as a climate leader with an overall score of 70.6. This score was influenced by a compound annual reduction rate of 5.3 percent in Scope 1 and 2 emissions over the past five years. SGS’s collaboration with the Carbon Disclosure Project, the Science Based Targets initiative, and its Scope 3 emissions reporting were also key factors in this recognition.

These achievements reflect SGS’s leadership in corporate sustainability. SGS is honoured to be recognised as a benchmark for excellence in the industry.
