Suttons Group and Huntsman strengthen chemical logistics safety through shared safety event in Shanghai

Suttons Group has hosted a Shared Safety Event in Shanghai in collaboration with Huntsman Corporation, reinforcing a joint commitment to safety, capability, and best practice across chemical logistics operations. The event took place at the Guanda Depot and brought together Suttons colleagues, suppliers, and logistics partners from across the region.

Representatives from Stolt Tank Containers China also participated, creating a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Suttons and Stolt teams as they continue to align on shared operational standards and safety principles. The programme focused on practical knowledge-sharing and technical assurance, covering ISO tank fundamentals and E-heating systems, MDI and TDI product safety and MSDS training, incident and accident case studies, and an overview of ISO tank operations.

Participants were given the opportunity to tour a demonstration ISO tank, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of tank components, common operational issues, and key maintenance considerations. The day concluded with a practical PMDI Emergency Response Drill, jointly conducted by Suttons’ Emergency Response Team and Guanda Depot operators. The exercise demonstrated coordinated emergency response procedures, safe product transfer processes, and the first operational use of the Smart Flange for real-time pressure and level monitoring.

The event highlighted the value of close collaboration across the supply chain and underscored Suttons Group’s ongoing commitment to strengthening safety, technical capability, and operational excellence in partnership with customers and industry stakeholders.
