Suttons International announces dedicated Asian fleet

The shift towards more regionalised supply chains and blocs has been felt across the industry. A recent initiative by Suttons International in the Far East to address this shift has led to the formation of the Suttons Asian Short Sea Initiative, to help its tank containers to continue to provide the same level of service to the industry.

Suttons specialises in logistics spanning road and sea across the world. The Asia Short Sea Initiative is a dedicated Asia short sea fleet of tanks that will only transit between the main markets in this region: China, SEA (Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia), Korea, and Japan.

These new tanks were brought into active service in July and August, and are already fully utilised, with substantially more tanks being added to the fleet in the near future.

Suttons said: “As part of the initiative, we have been able to add significant value to new and existing customers by concentrating on dedicated loops to assuring continuity of supply. We have been able to support some of our key Japanese clients by shipping tanks on a round trip basis from Japan to China and as a result have prevented plant shutdowns for these customers.

It said: “We are committed to the highest levels of service, as our industry and markets will continue to evolve and change, Suttons International will be there to guide our customers and ensure minimal disruption to supply chains.”
