Svanehoj acquires H&K Services B.V.
Svanehoj has expanded its marine service and aftersales operations in the Benelux region through the acquisition of H&K Services B.V., a Netherlands-based specialist in the service and repair of marine fuel and cargo gas pumps.
The acquisition, which was completed on 1st May 2026, will see H&K Services operate under the Svanehoj EPS name while continuing activities from its existing facility in Stellendam, the Netherlands, near Svanehoj’s regional service hub in Oud Gastel.
The move forms part of Svanehoj’s broader strategy to strengthen its global service and aftersales network through closer customer proximity and faster technical support capabilities. H&K Services brings decades of experience in measurement, control and technical services for industrial and maritime sectors, as well as established expertise in servicing Svanehoj deepwell pump systems.
According to Søren Kringeholt Nielsen, the acquisition adds specialist knowledge in cargo and fuel gas pumps while reinforcing the company’s relationships with shipowners and shipyards in the region.
The transaction follows Svanehoj’s acquisition last year of European Pumps Services (EPS) B.V. in Oud Gastel, which now serves as the company’s primary Benelux service hub. As a distributor and service provider for ITT brands Bornemann and Goulds Pumps, Svanehoj EPS provides turnkey solutions supported by in-house engineering and project management expertise.
Svanehoj said the latest acquisition further strengthens its presence in one of Europe’s key maritime and shipping regions, while supporting growing demand for gas pump service and repair work.
Under the new structure, the H&K Services business will be integrated into Svanehoj EPS under the leadership of Managing Director Frank Hansen. Operations will remain in Stellendam to continue handling large pump overhauls. H&K founder John Huizer will remain with the business as technical manager, while co-owner Bert De Korte is expected to retire.
Svanehoj said the acquisition also increases workshop capacity at a time of high market activity and strengthens its ability to support both existing and new customers.
The company highlighted growing global demand for LNG-related marine services as a key market driver. The global LNG carrier fleet has more than doubled over the past decade to exceed 800 vessels, while more than 600 LNG-fuelled ships are currently in operation worldwide. This transition toward cleaner marine fuels is increasing demand for maintenance and servicing of gas pumps and related systems.
Svanehoj said it is well positioned to support this market growth through its integrated service hub network across Denmark, the Netherlands, Singapore and Dubai.
