Svanehoj renews global service agreement with major LPG fleet owner

Svanehoj has renewed a global framework agreement with a major LPG fleet owner after servicing more than 120 gas carriers worldwide over the past two years.

The renewed partnership strengthens Svanehoj’s position as a service provider for integrated maintenance, repair, and calibration solutions across key shipping markets. The agreement covers support for cargo and fuel pump systems, level gauging equipment, compressors, safety valves, and calibration services for LNG and LPG vessels.

According to the company, the collaboration is built on a successful two-year partnership during which Svanehoj provided maintenance services aimed at improving operational performance and minimising downtime across the fleet.

Anders Frost, sales director at Svanehoj Service Center APAC, said the agreement validates the company’s global service model, which is designed to simplify operations and create added value for large LNG and LPG fleet operators. He noted that the broad scope of the agreement supports a more integrated service experience for customers.

A major factor behind the renewed agreement is Svanehoj’s global service network, which enables localised support across multiple regions. The company operates regional service hubs in Denmark for Europe, Dubai for the Middle East, Singapore for the Asia-Pacific region, and Suzhou for China.

The regional setup allows Svanehoj to deliver faster response times while reducing travel requirements for service operations. By combining regional hubs with local service engineers, the company aims to lower operational costs and reduce associated CO₂ emissions.

The integrated service approach is also intended to streamline vessel maintenance by consolidating multiple service disciplines under a single provider. According to Svanehoj, this model helps reduce administrative complexity, minimise operational downtime, decrease the number of vendor interfaces, and improve predictability in service execution.

The agreement further reinforces the growing demand for centralised and globally coordinated service solutions in the LNG and LPG shipping sectors.
