TRANSWAGGON provides automatic brake testing and additional digital monitoring from PJM as an equipment option

In collaboration with PJM, the TRANSWAGGON Group is playing a pivotal role in advancing the automation and digitalization of rail freight transport across Europe. By integrating PJM’s brake testing system into the WaggonTracker platform, wagon rental customers can streamline operations and enhance safety by automating brake testing procedures. This innovative system eliminates the need for manual inspections, providing immediate brake condition data directly to locomotive or shunting crew tablets.

Bertram Wieloch, CTO and member of the TRANSWAGGON Group’s Executive Board, emphasised the time-saving and safety-enhancing benefits of the automatic brake testing system. He highlighted how it expedites train preparation while improving safety standards.

For PJM, this collaboration with TRANSWAGGON represents a significant milestone in making cutting-edge freight wagon technology accessible to smaller and private rail transport companies. PJM CEO Günter Petschnig noted the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of their solutions, tailored to meet specific customer requirements.

This partnership builds upon previous successful collaborations between TRANSWAGGON and PJM, including the implementation of the LoadMonitor system for Mercer Holz. This system, which monitors load weight during the loading process, has enabled better capacity utilisation and eliminated overloading, leading to enhanced efficiency and paperless documentation.
