UNITI expo 2026 unveils a future mobility lounge bigger than ever

The transition to new forms of energy is becoming an increasingly important priority for the service station industry. To highlight this development and support the evolution of mobility, the UNITI expo 2024 introduced the Future Mobility Lounge, a dedicated exhibition area focused on emerging energy and mobility solutions.

What began with 25 exhibitors across 1,000 square metres has quickly grown into a significant feature of UNITI expo, widely regarded as Europe’s leading trade fair for the service station and car wash sectors. For the next edition, both the exhibition space and the number of participating companies have doubled, with around 50 exhibitors expected to present innovations across 2,000 square metres.

Focus on future mobility solutions

The Future Mobility Lounge will be located on the gallery of Hall 1 at Messe Stuttgart, connecting to Hall 3. Interest in the area is growing rapidly among both exhibitors and visitors.

During the event, taking place from 19–21 May 2026, attendees will be able to explore technologies and solutions related to EV charging, renewable fuels, hydrogen and natural gas-based fuels in one central location. Major industry players are expected to use the platform to present new developments.

Among them is Tesla, which plans to showcase its latest generation of Superchargers capable of charging both passenger vehicles and trucks. The company noted that it operates the world’s largest fast-charging network, with more than 75,000 chargers globally, and now offers its Supercharger technology as white-label hardware for service stations and truck stops.

Other mobility and energy companies, including Shell, Q1 Energie AG and Avia, will present concepts and solutions aimed at supporting the energy transition at service stations. Hardware and software suppliers are also expected to contribute technologies and services that illustrate the next stages of mobility development.

E-fuels will be another important focus of the exhibition area, with suppliers and research partners presenting the latest developments and providing insights into ongoing projects. In addition, the Future Mobility Forum will host talks and discussions exploring topics such as synthetic fuels and the future of alternative energy for transport.

Growing role as an industry hub

Elmar Kühn, managing director of UNITI Bundesverband EnergieMittelstand e. V. and organiser of UNITI expo, highlighted the importance of the initiative during a period of transformation for the sector. He said the Future Mobility Lounge demonstrates how rapidly the shift toward alternative fuels is progressing and that it is no longer a niche topic for industry members. The association will also maintain its own stand within the area to encourage exchange and provide guidance.

Several exhibitors from UNITI expo have already secured additional space within the Future Mobility Lounge, while new companies focused exclusively on future mobility solutions are also preparing to participate.

Ben Boroewitsch, CEO of com-a-tec GmbH and co-organiser of the trade fair, said the dedicated exhibition area helps the event reach a broader audience and attract new participant groups. He added that the gallery in Hall 1 provides sufficient capacity to expand the concept further as interest continues to grow.
