Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, a division of the technology conglomerate Wärtsilä, has secured a contract to provide cargo handling and fuel gas supply systems for three new 98k Very Large Ethane Gas Carrier vessels. These vessels are currently under construction at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries yard in Korea for a ship owner based in Oceania. The order for this project was recorded by Wärtsilä in the first quarter of 2024.

This selection of Wärtsilä solutions follows a recent order from HHI for three new VLECs for a different customer, underscoring Wärtsilä’s leading position in the market segment.
